You know my sister Nancy Stewart and her famous smile that can light up a room! It's been a bit harder for her to smile since the diagnosis of Stage 2-B colon cancer in February.
The prognosis is promising, and she has undergone her chemo treatments over the past several months with bravery, even when that smile was tough to muster. The end of her treatments is in sight in the next few months, and then she will require recovery time to regain her strength before returning to work.
Sadly, Nancy's funds have run out before her treatment has! Her EI disability from work finished some time ago; she is not eligible for the Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit since her unemployment is not due to COVID; and now she has been turned down for CPP Disability, which had been her last best hope.
Can you help tide Nancy over for the next few months to get her back on her feet? I'm sure we all wish for Nancy to concentrate on getting better - undergoing the remainder of her treatments and returning to health without constant worry and stress about keeping her bills paid. Any amount you are able to give to help Nancy will be so very appreciated!
