Hello Everyone: Our friend John Hood has been stricken with a severe case of COPD, as well as a nodule on his left lung that needs to be a biopsied, and now he's got to go into the hospital for extensive evaluation and treatment. The doctors estimate he'll be out of commission for at least one month. We'd like to help Hood with his expenses so that he can concentrate on getting well again. We'd also like to help him get back to doing what he does best -- writing. Chances are good that Hood's written about you or someone you know over the past couple of decades, because over the past couple of decades Hood's been devoted to writing about the best and the brightest people we know -- or should know. In fact, Hood's writing has helped shed light upon thousands and thousands of artists, DJs, musicians, authors and other creatives. We humbly ask that you help us repay the many favors he's bestowed upon so many. It's not a huge ask. But it is for someone who's been a huge presence in our lives. Someone we'd all like to see being a huge presence for a long, long time to come. Won't you help us help John Hood? Sincerely, Anna Domino, Jimmy Franzo, Matt Green, Timothy Schnellenberger, David Tamargo ______________________________________________________________________________ A Note from Jimmy Dearest family and friends, I recently had lunch with Hood and I was completely stunned watching him fighting to breathe. Simple tasks we take for granted are massive challenges for him. The good news is that there are medications and treatment. Carrying this weight on his own as completely drained his every resource. He has plenty of fight left in him and maintains a great attitude, yet he needs our help. Please donate whatever you can. I’ve been in his shoes and it’s not the amount of $, it’s the name attached to it that whispers “You got this, you are not alone and you’re loved” Jimmy Franzo ______________________________________________________________________________ A Note from Hood Hey Gang: Hate like hell to hit you all up like this. And if it weren't for these kind, cool friends I probably wouldn't. But I've been putting off treatment for far too long. And if I don't do something now I soon won't be able to do anything ever again. That's what the doctors say anyway. So does my body. Which these days can't make it from the car to my front door without running outta breath. I'm talkin' 30 feet -- tops! It's a scary feeling. Kinda like drowning on dry land. And yeah, it scares the fuck outta me. Yet I'm determined to beat this disease. Or at least to keep it at bay. And with your help I will. After all, I've still got a lotta stories to tell. I Thank You All... Hood.
