Let's Help Jim Beat This #HowlandStrong
Donation protected
I will begin with the end in mind…our brother could use your help. He may be a VW Bus brother, a dear friend, or family member to you, and we all know Jim to be full of faith, inspiration, strength, and generosity.
Almost exactly one year ago Jim and Kathy were leaving the L.E.A.K.O.I.L weekend on Kelley’s Island and noticed a rather large lump on his neck. He was subsequently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and they began to fight a formidable disease.
Throughout this last year Jim and Kathy have lived through an arduous series of treatments. The skilled oncology team at U of M Hospital have tried several different regimens and unfortunately so far everything has failed to achieve the positive results needed for Jim to get a stem cell transplant. Jim and Kathy continue to fight. Their next step in this journey is to go to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas – the #1 cancer center in the country.
This is where we come in. There will be significant expenses incurred in the months to come. In addition to high medical costs, there will now be expenses for travel, lodging, and food while in Houston. Along with our prayers, our encouraging words, and positive vibes this is our opportunity to support them in this next phase of their journey. Jim and Kathy were approached about accepting donations and have humbly agreed to accept our help.
We have set a goal and seek your support in the quest for Jim’s full recovery. Anything you can give is a gift to not only Jim and Kathy, but to our society, because this world needs more Jim Howland’s.
