Davidson Family and Friends... Our beloved family member, Janice Mundy, needs our help.

Janice is Uncle Harold’s niece. As Janice’s Mother was suffering from Alzheimer’s, Janice was there by her side everyday taking care of her. This continued for many years, even while her mom couldn’t remember who Janice was...

When you ask Janice about that experience, she always comes back with the same response, “I was honored.”

Years later when Uncle Harold and Aunt Joan were elderly and in need of care, Janice felt compelled once again to step up and help. She was their rock, and began taking care of their needs. This care included, but was not limited to: Doctor’s appointments, cooking and cleaning, bathing aunt Joan, picking-up their meds, bringing them food, and most of all keeping them company so they knew they were not alone and still mattered.

Uncle Harold passed roughly 5 years ago and Aunt Joan passed this past September. After Uncle Harold’s passing, Aunt Joan's health continued to decline, so Janice moved in with her, becoming not only her roommate, but her 24/7 care giver. They also became best friends.

Undoubtedly, this was no small undertaking, as Aunt Joan had become bedridden. Every time Janice was asked about how things were going, she would beam as she complemented Aunt Joan, and once again her words rang true to her actions--that she was “honored” to be able to help such a dear friend.

Now that Aunt Joan has passed and she and Janice are not co-mingling their meager fixed incomes, Janice is in need financially. Therefore, Roger and I are reaching out to the greater Davidson extended family and friends seeking financial support for this wonderful woman and family member.

Roger and I have agreed to infuse the initial seed money, and Chris Wigley has donated a very generous amount (behind the scenes) in order to pay off some of Janice's debts, but she needs more to ensure her security going forward. Any additional donations will help pay bills, as well as, give her a bit of security now that she is in her 70’s.

Also, please know that even $20 increments will go a long way and that the need is immediate. This is a woman who has virtually no money, and was not prepared for this outcome. Instead, she is one of those rare individuals who puts others first, and is all about the loving nurturement of those she loves and cares about.
