It all started with a sore calf muscle. In a matter of two weeks, it turned out to be Deep Vein Thrombosis, which evolved into a Pulmonary Embolism, and then to the diagnosis that would change their lives forever, Adenocarcinoma. At the age of 33, our beautiful friend Jakub Macak has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, meaning the cancer has already metastasized from his lungs to the lymphatic nodes in the chest and abdomen.
For anyone who knows Jakub and Lilia (his incredible wife), you know that they would be reluctant to ask for help; they are givers in the truest and the most genuine way. Jakub and Lilia are the most generous, open, and loving couple most of us know. They give back to their friends, family, and community in everything that they do; they unconsciously elevate us all and help us to live our lives more fully and with greater compassion. With their zest for life and huge hearts, you can feel the abundance of love, generosity, and joy they create whenever you are around them. And now it’s our turn to give back to them --
Over the last two weeks since receiving the news, Jakub and Lilia have been dedicating themselves full time to research and understanding what can be done to heal Jakub, since Western medicine says there is no cure, and surgery is not an option.
But Jakub and Lilia are writing their own story...and "there's nothing we can do" is not good enough for them... or for any of us.
Lilia and Jakub need to move fast, and we have the opportunity to support them. They have decided to try a very promising option for Jakub’s healing; alternative treatment in Mexico at Hope4Cancer. Hope4Cancer is an integrative cancer treatment centre using evidence-based healing methods and proven to bring good results and the best option ahead for Jakub’s journey. The cost for Jakub to undergo treatment here is around $80,000; and, unfortunately, this is not funded.
With Jakub not working at the moment and Lilia having recently been made redundant, their savings are not enough to cover this treatment, which is why they need our help. All our help.
