What is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy?
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a serious condition, mainly experienced by boys, that causes muscles to become weaker over time. Many parts of the body are affected, with muscle loss in the skeletal, cardiac and pulmonary regions.  Approximately 1 in 5,000 boys are born with DMD.  Children are usually diagnosed by age 4, and by the age of 8 a wheelchair is needed.  There is currently no cure, but there are helpful treatments including steroid therapy.
Who is Caleb?

Caleb is a thirteen-year-old boy who has Duchenne. He loves Legos, video games, and Star Wars.  He also enjoys playing baseball for the local Miracle League. Caleb is well-loved by his church; he assists his father with the computer during Sunday morning worship services.Caleb also is an acolyte who brings the light of Jesus into the church and then carries it out into the world.
How can you help?

We would like for light and love to be extended to Caleb and his family. Caleb is in need of a new electric wheelchair. This chair will enable him to go places and experience life more fully. The family is also in need of a new vehicle that will be capable of transporting the wheelchair. Their current car is not big enough to carry it. The cost of the wheelchair is between $25,000 and $30,000 and the cost of an appropriate vehicle will be approximately $40,000.

Please give to this precious family, and give Caleb freedom to live his life to the fullest.
