When I was first born my Grandfather, Roger Green was scared to hold me because he thought he was sick. On the 26th of December 2006, he was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma Cancer and passed away 27 days later, I was 2 months old.
When I had just turned 12, in 2018, my Uncle Jolly Duncan, who I saw as a Grandpa, was rushed to the hospital because he was having liver problems. Every day for the next couple of months me and my mom would go see him, and it was so sad for me to see him in the hospital. About 3 months in he was diagnosed with Cancer, and although he started to get better, he then got much worse and passed away, May 2019.
Annette Fisher is one of the most giving and incredible people I know. Every fundraiser or event in my community, Annette has always been there organizing or working so hard to be sure it was a success. She was the T-Shirt Merch Queen for AvoFest for so many years. She helped with countless events at Alcazar Theatre, Woman’s Club, Carpinteria Education Foundation, and so many more.
At the beginning of this pandemic, despite her fighting her own battle of Terminal Cancer, she collected raffle items from different people and did a virtual online raffle raising money for so many different local businesses and nonprofits that were hurting due to COVID.
I feel like Annette has known me my whole life, she is incredibly special to me.
She was diagnosed with terminal Cancer about a year and a half ago and she continues to fight. Just this week, she was told that she now has 5 brain tumors, one of which will be operated on, the other 4 they will do radiation. This newest brain tumor will affect her speech, writing, vision, and balance.
She is scared but she has faith and draws her strength from God.
I feel like she does not ever ask for anything, and now it is our time to help her.
Annette is one of the most loved and loving people I know. She deserves everything. It would mean a lot to me and her if everyone could donate to help her keep fighting, please, please anything you can do will help, thank you.
