My name is Lynn Gayda . I am starting this fundraiser for my friend Sheri Gabianelli Lotto . I met Sheri through her Mom and Dad , Al and Carol Gabianelli. Sheri ,her Husband Kevin and daughter Ashley lived in Seymour, Ct.. They decided a few years ago to move to The Villages /Oxford Florida to be near her parents.
As I got to know Sheri ,I learned she has Diabetes , she is a brittle Diabetic. The disease has given Sheri many unwelcome issues such as Charcot foot , Degenerative eye disease, and circulatory problems.
Sheri has been in and out of hospitals for many months ,most of it during the time of the virus, so visitors were not allowed. She has been fighting to save her left leg as the circulatory problems and infection were causing a diabetic ulcer on the foot. Months of iv therapy, surgeries,hospitalizations,rehab facilities ensued . Not healed but finally going home, Sheri fell and broke her hip and back to the hospital. She required repair of the hip fracture and back surgery.
Meanwhile her foot is not healing and Sheri will undergo amputation .
Sheri has been in a wheelchair for a very long time unable to bear weight as the foot was trying to heal.
Sheri is the first person to step up and help anyone. She has always been able to work and help provide for her family until now. Kevin works two jobs , very long days.
They need our help. It was when I found out the cost of a prosthetic ,and the fact that insurance covers very little , and that the medical bills right now are huge , I decided to reach out to our community of Friends and Family with this fundraiser.
Any amount is gratefully appreciated.
Prosthetic's can cost between 10 to 50 thousand dollars and the medical bills are already high .
I promise to keep you updated and I promise this is going to help a deserving woman and her family. The Lotto and Gabianelli families will be touched and grateful to you .
