Let's get Robbie Knab riding a Bowhead
Donation protected
Rob's been excelling at extreme sports his whole life. From a young age he was on boards and bikes going as fast and as high as he could. He'd been snowskating for a few years, but last season he took his riding to a new level. He was doing things never seen before in snowskating. He was linking the biggest jump lines, landing 80+ footers, and airing over snowcats (video below). He was literally changing the snowskate world and the snowboard world in real-time. All minds blown.
While at an event late last season, Rob's snowskating was the stuff of legends. Ask anyone who was there, and they'll tell you he was doing things in the terrain park they'd never seen before. But near the end of the second day he had a crash that changed his life. Rob suffered a severe spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed. No words can be written to express or explain this. The Knab family is an unbelievable inspiration, and Rob's continuing his rehab and adjusting to his new life.
This is where the Bowhead Reach Adventure Cycle comes in. The Bowhead Reach can be used by quadriplegics. Their quad-specific handlebar has brakes and a throttle that are operable with wrist extensions, and the bar-ends keep the rider's hands from sliding off.
The Bowhead would enable Rob to use mountain bike trails, ski resorts (it does great on snow), and to just get around on ground not made of cement and concrete. It will give him access to so many outdoor activities, which have been at the center of his life since childhood.
Rob's already put $9,000 down on his Bowhead. With shipping and the trailer, it's going to cost him around $20,000. So we're hoping to raise the remaining $11,000 so he can get it as soon as possible.
Hovland Snowskates is pledging 5% of our web sales to Rob this season. And there's an option to donate more when checking out of the webstore. We're hoping that with your help we can raise the rest of what's needed.
Please share this on your social media so we can get the message out to as many people as possible.
Thank you for taking the time. Any and all donations are very much appreciated.
