My name is Lily Kobelt. I've been writing music as Lily Vance since 2016.
During that year I wrote 'Stay Cool' with one of my close friends as I started questioning my relationship with alcohol.
In 2018, I wrote 'Predicaments' for my grad recital. I had been 4 months sober. I relapsed shortly after.
The songs sat untouched as I waited for someone who understood the direction I wanted to take. I struggled with my sobriety, my mental health, and my self-esteem as sketchy men diminished my work or only offered to work with me in exchange for sexual favours. I was discouraged.
Near the end of 2019, I was blessed to meet Izzy Fontaine and Canvas Group, who immediately saw something in the songs. I flew out to work with them in January. I was blown away by how quickly they brought the songs to a whole new level. We had planned to release both songs (Predicaments and Stay Cool) in May 2020, but the pandemic had other plans for us.
I am nearing the end of paying off this project but still have $1250 left to pay for production, + $250 for PR purposes (to ensure the song falls into the right hands).
I've created this fundraiser with the intention to invite those who are willing and available to do so to financially contribute to this project!
Any amount is immensely appreciated and helps move the project forward.
We believe these songs have incredible potential and want to take them as far as we can! I am forever grateful for this opportunity.

We are reaching the goal so quickly that we decided to raise the goal amount and extend the fundraiser until my birthday so that we can allocate funds to the music video with Les Orphelins!
