Let's BLESS Rita
Thank you for coming to this page - we are reaching out to bless and support Rita in her time of need. As many of you know, Rita was recently diagnosed with cancer – specifically, Diffuse Large B Cell lymphoma. Unfortunately, yesterday Rita received the news that the Lymphoma is also in her bone marrow.
Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing Rita knows she is the FIRST person to jump in and help someone in their time of need. From cooking meals to donating items or money to volunteering, or just being there during your time of need. Rita is ALWAYS there when you need her. Now we have the chance to bless her when she needs it.
Rita started experiencing pain on her right side after she fell while helping clean out her brother’s house, who had recently passed away. The pain continued and after about a month and a half, she went to see her PCP. An x-ray did not show anything, so an ultrasound was ordered. The results prompted the doctor to order a CT scan. When the radiologist saw the CT scan, they immediately sent her to the ER for an MRI. The MRI showed a large 16 cm (about 6 inches) mass. Rita went in for a biopsy, which presented Lymphoma.
Rita’s treatment plan will be a long journey and include weekly chemotherapy treatments, and of course, numerous doctor visits. She has already undergone a bone marrow biopsy, several tumor biopsies and had a port a cath placed where she will receive her chemotherapy treatment.
While Medicare will cover some expenses, there are many expenses it will not cover. In addition to the financial burden of cancer treatments, Rita has also had to miss work for doctor’s visits and tests, which in her case means not getting paid.
Anything you are willing to donate will be so appreciated. If you are not in a position to donate as so many are not during these difficult times, we ask that you repost or forward this request. All donations will be used to pay bills – our hope is this will allow Rita to focus on beating cancer rather than worrying about paying bills.
