Let's Be Jaxon's Superhero
Donation protected
Hi friends, I am Jaxon Whitehead. Many of you know me as the fun loving, energetic little boy that loves superheros and who runs around pretending to be one. Today I am asking you all to be my superhero.
Jaxon's Story:
A few weeks ago it started with a sore throat that quickly turned into something much more serious. On July 3rd the doctors did a thorough check-up and blood work. On July 4th Amanda got a call telling her to get Jaxon to the hospital right away, his platelet count was dangerously low. He spent 3 days in the hospital and endured more painful blood draws to monitor his counts and a bone marrow biopsy that ruled out leukemia. However, because the counts are not rebounding it indicates aplastic anemia or a genetic disorder. One requires a bone marrow transplant, which means a 5-6 weeks in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the other requires medical treatment for the rest of his life.
In either case, this is going to be a long, difficult journey even for a 4 year old superhero. It will be difficult and stressful for Michael and Amanda. She will not be able to maintain her babysitting business, which they depend on to make ends meet.
Today we are asking for your help in 3 ways.
1) To help those in need of a bone marrow transplant, sign up on www.bethematch.org
2) You can help Jaxon get the care and treatment he needs by contributing
3) Please pray for Jaxon and his family for strength and healing
We will be forever grateful for your help,
Jaxon's Loving Family
