Let Your Lovelight Shine on Atlas and his Daddy

Donation protected
Atlas and his Daddy live in Washington state.
Atlas has recently been given a preliminary diagnosis of Autism. Because of the pandemic Atlas lost critical time in terms of early intervention, treatment and screening. Sadly Atlas’s Mother is unable to accept her sons diagnosis and has elected to give custody of Atlas to his Dad. She has left the state and is not coming back.
prior to his Mother’s departure, Atlas’s Dad was delivery man for Bimbo Bread, working all of the O/T he could get, sometimes sleeping in the back of the truck to save the long commute home and back again to be present for work very early as the job required. Considered a front line worker, In the early days of the the pandemic he was accosted several times by people offering to pay him for the contents of his truck!

Left with no daycare and a toddler who is only now beginning to come out of his shell, Atlas’s Dad has had to resign from his job, dissolve his 401k and pour his heart and soul into making sure that Atlas gets  the services he needs meanwhile establishing a solid  schedule and establishing structure; this happening while he was dealing with his own grief and depression. I am happy to say that Atlas has made fantastic progress with the little therapy he has had and the consistent dedication of his Daddy but Dad is quickly exhausting his retirement and has been denied unemployment. He has appealed the denial and has been made aware of programs that may be able to assist with household expenses etc however, all of this takes time.
As if all this were not enough, Dad had just been informed that the particular waiver Atlas is on expires when he turns three. His birthday is in two weeks! Dad’s understanding is that additional testing will need to be done at three years of age. It absolutely crucial that it be completed. Your support would provide funding for two months of rent and $500 to cover transportation costs to and from appointments.
Stability and consistency are vital to any child but for a child like Atlas it is the difference between progress and regression. These funds would give Dad a little bit of time to get his legs under him so to speak. He has always been a hard worker and I have no doubt that when his son has the supports he needs he will be back at work in no time. Atlas is very comfortable and accustom to his home. He has already lost a lot I’m hoping he and his Dad can at least avoid having to move.  No donation is too small. All donors will receive a personal thank you. If you are unable to donate please share! Thank you for taking the time to learn about this deserving little family.
