Let's help Monsieur Amene!

Dear LGM Brothers and Sisters:

I am sure you all remember the man in the picture. Yes, it is Gash Amene! He has been hospitalized. Robel Seido went to visit him and talked to his doctor who told him that while it’s not life threatening yet, Gash Amene does have a kidney infection, hypertension and suffers from pneumonia. He is also a type 2 diabetic. 

Robel Seido and Theodros Abate have set up a temporary bank account for this purpose at Awash Bank in Addis Ababa (Acc. No. 01320269014500) and they are asking that we all support Gash Amene in this URGENT TIME OF NEED.

We decided to create this GoFundMe campaign as a simplified conduit for those of us living abroad to contribute to this cause. All the proceeds from this campaign will be withdrawn by Issayas Alemu and wired into the Awash Bank account Robel and Teddy created in Addis Ababa to cover Gash Amene’s medical bills. Any leftover funds will subsequently be placed into a new bank account under Gash Amene’s name to help support his recovery after he leaves the hospital.

Once we get past this urgent hurdle, we plan to devise a mechanism whereby those with the means and willingness can make ongoing modest contributions to help support this man who has been such an integral part of all our childhoods.

But for now, let us get him back up on his feet! PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY!!! Like M. Amene himself would say: Allez les gars!!!
