Let us help Haya - widowed mother of 5 to survive in Gaza

Donation protected
"Hello, my name is Haya Ashqer, I am 30 years old, from Gaza City. I am a mother of 5 children.

We used to have a beautiful and simple life. Every morning I woke up my husband for his work as a taxidriver and my children for school.

Every Friday was dedicated to "family day" : joining my husband and going out all together.
This was our beloved, ordinary life until October 7th.

Since then, our lives have been turned upside down. Bombings started everywhere, the planes did not leave the airspace, targeting everything that moves. We remained steadfast in our house until they targeted our neighbors’ house. Most of my family members were seriously injured, and among the wounded was my brother-in-law. It was a very difficult night. We had no other choice but to leave.

Our house was subjected to major damage and became uninhabitable. We went to a shelter school in a neighborhood close to our area. We decided to stay there, thinking it was a safe place, but there is no safe place in Gaza.

The bombing did not stop for a long time. They bombed houses and towers opposite the shelter in which we took refuge. We all felt very afraid. It was a very difficult night. My husband told me to take our children to the south of the Gaza Strip to the city of Khan Yunis with his relatives, and he would remain accompanying his injured brother in Al-Shifa Hospital.

At first, I rejected the idea of leaving without him. But fearing for my children and with the situation become more dangerous every minute, I forced myself to listen to him and took my children to a shelter camp in Khan Yunis. We stayed there for a month when the occupation targeted the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital and committed a massacre. There were many martyrs, including my husband.

The news of his martyrdom came to me as a huge shock. I felt the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. I have not forgotten that moment until now. I am devastated and cannot forget my husband. The pain of loss was and still is very difficult. Days later, the occupation threatened the city of Khan Yunis, so I took my children and took them to the city of Rafah in a shelter camp and we stayed there for months.

After some time, the occupation started to threaten the city of Rafah and entered it by land, and air with bombs falling on us everywhere in the city.

I felt danger for my life and the lives of my children, so we displaced again, since time to the city of Deir al-Balah in the middle of the Strip.

And now I do not know when and where this war will end, and I do not know where the safe place is.

All I know is you are my only hope for me to save the lives of my 5 children and I hope you will not to ignore our call.

As you have read, Haya is a widowed mother and has 5 children to take care of. The funds collected will serve to buy food, clean water and first necessity supplies for her family. To put in bluntly: to survive in Gaza.

The funds (in their entirety) will be sent to her on a secured Paypal account she has access to.

Let us help by donating (even 5€), sharing the link and following her on IG.
