Pastor Paul Ramos is a 49 y.o a local Filipino Missionary, Church Planter, Visionary and enthusiastic Pastor of Jesus Loves You City Church in Anti-polo Rizal, Philippines committed to catering to Urban poor and surrounding community. Along with Pastor Paul serving in the community is his wife Rosavic, and their 3 sons, Paolo, Dan & Hosed .
My Family and I, Marichu Bernardo, a Registered MICU Nurse, are members of Philadelphia Bible Church International - a Multinational Christian Church in the Heart of Northeast Philadelphia, PA pastored by Rev. Roger Manao. Pastor Paul Ramos started to become a part of PBCI last January 2020 under Partnership through PBCI Global Mission Ministry in line with God's Great Commission.
He is closed to our family's heart. His love, dedication and humble service to God's Ministry has been apparent to so many lives.
In middle part of March this year, Pastor Paul Ramos and his family (wife and 2 sons) got sick of what they thought was just an ordinary flu. A week later, Pastor Paul's symptoms worsened, what was believed to be a simple flu turned out to be positive for Covid 19. He required hospitalization and was admitted to a provincial Hospital in Antipolo Rizal , his home town . After 2 days, his condition had been challenging to manage and was transferred to The Manila Doctors - a Private Tertiary Hospital in the Philippinesl. Pastor Paul's oxygen Saturation continued to dangerously decline even with high amount of Oxygen, He was then transferred to COVID ICU, was intubated for 2 weeks due to COVID pneumonia, being covered by Antiviral and Anti bacterial Medications due to blood Stream Infection, receiving Hemodialysis , Blood Pressure medication for Hypotension, All measures. was given to Pastor Paul to treat and manage complications of COVID 19.
With God's supernatural Intervention he was able to survive all deadly complications. Despite the bleak picture, he shows the determination to live and conquer this ordeal. He is now extubated, his multi organ failure has started to resolve and plan of transfer to Non- Covid floor in the next few days.
The Team of Doctors and staff who are taking care of Paul have been committed to giving their 100% to save his life. The Manila Doctors Hospital where Pastor Paul is currently admitted is also maximizing its facilities.
Pastor Paul is slowly showing signs of recovery. But the journey continues.
We look forward to that day when he is back on his feet again and back in his passion to care for the people that God has entrusted to him in Antipolo, the neighboring areas and beyond.
Pastor Paul's journey with COVID- 19 also presents seemingly insurmountable cost. His Hospital expenses in a day averages from 100,00php - 150,000php or 2,000 -3,000USD. This amount is already a half a year's wage for a regular Filipino worker. It has already closed to 1 month of Hospitalization.
