Let the Light In: A Creative Mission for the Soul of Seoul

Hi, I’m Mariam — I’m a 22 year old from London and I love Jesus.

Since coming to know Christ, He’s reignited my passion for worship and unlocked my creative gifts like singing, storytelling, and expression. I believe creativity is one of the most powerful ways we can reflect God’s image — and that when we create with Him, we can bring healing, hope, and beauty into the world.

That’s why I’m beyond excited to be going to Seoul, South Korea in June on a mission trip with my church.

We’ll be serving in Hongdae, Seoul’s creative and cultural hub, known for its vibrant arts and entertainment scene. But beneath the surface, this is also a place where many — especially young people — are wrestling with loneliness, body image pressures, and spiritual disconnection. God has placed a burden on our hearts for Gen Z and Gen Alpha, many of whom are unchurched or have walked away from faith.

We believe God wants to encounter them through creativity and community.

What We’re Doing

We’re launching a two-day “Hongdae Creatives Fest”. Our mission is to:

1. Reveal the Creator

2. Unleash the creative

Here’s what’s planned:

• Day 1: Creative workshops, panels, performances, and artistic showcases.

• Day 2: More workshops and art spaces by day — then a powerful worship night in the evening.

Throughout the week, we’ll also be doing:

• Street busking evangelism in Hongdae’s Red Street area

• Performances in music bars that have opened their doors to us

• One-on-one conversations, prayer, and giving out discipleship packs to help people take the next step in faith

This is a creative mission, but it’s also deeply spiritual. We are going with a heart of humility and honour for what God is already doing in Korea, while asking: What is Your heart, Lord, for Seoul’s youth and future leaders? We’ll be spending time in prayer and community outreach, believing God wants to restore vision and faith to a generation.

To be part of this mission, I need to raise £1,000 to cover the full cost of the trip:
