My name is Florence Armein, and I am honored to be a part of Indonesia’s first-ever National Ultimate Frisbee Team, The Garudas. This December, we will compete at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand—a milestone not only for our athletes, but for the growth of Ultimate in Indonesia as a whole.

This campaign matters deeply to me because Ultimate has shaped my life and the communities I care about. I began playing in the United States in 2021, where I was fortunate to receive coaching, mentorship, and opportunities that allowed me to grow as an athlete. At the same time, I remained connected to community leaders back home who were working tirelessly—often with limited resources—to build the sport in Indonesia. Their dedication inspired me. Together, we’ve been creating pathways for young players, fostering local programs, and cultivating a culture that celebrates inclusivity, teamwork, and compassion.

Ultimate is still an emerging sport in Indonesia. Many of our Garudas athletes are students or early-career professionals whose salaries fall far below international standards. Yet they train with heart, discipline, and pride, motivated by the dream of representing Indonesia on the world stage. What we lack in institutional support, we make up for in passion—but passion alone can’t cover the costs of being a national team.

That is why I am fundraising.

Your support will help ensure that all qualified athletes can participate in the SEA Games, regardless of financial barriers. Funds raised will go toward transportation and accommodation for players who need assistance, necessary practice and training expenses, and any remaining resources will be reinvested into long-term development for future Indonesian Ultimate programs.

I have never met a community as welcoming, supportive, and generous as the global Ultimate family. You remind me every day why this sport is worth growing—because it brings out the very best in people. With your help, we can give Indonesia’s athletes the chance they’ve earned and strengthen the foundation for future generations of players.
