For all intents and purposes, ICG has reached the end of the road.
We’ve pushed and pulled, reached and fought till we were forced to make the gut wrenching call in what we were hoping by some miracle, we wouldn't be forced to make. I've said many times having to keep the gym closed was like being a racehorse, just waiting for the crack of the gun and the kick to go. It just came too late.
ICG, before I knew its name was a hope said in prayers. It became a vision when I met Adam and told my story and heard all yours. It became a dream after I met you one by one and became enfolded in your community. Such an incredible community it IS.
We are a place built simply by community, bonded over the hard work our bodies were made to do. You inspired me everyday to make a way to survive. You supported us during the down for as long as you could and many still with us to this day. I’ll be grateful to overflowing for the rest of my life for that sacrifice.
Between March 17th and today was a lot of noise, frustration, sorrow, fear and loss. But in all that , despite all that and because of it I can still believe what we can be.
The Inner Circle Gym needs to raise enough funds to operate for 6 months and catch up on all the things that a business needs to survive. While the owner of the building is working with us and things are on deferment, the can has been kicked down the road far enough and it's time to make things happen one way or another.
The money raised will bring back coaches for classes, give us time to re-build, make monthly payments on our loans and survive Covid-19.
Over many workouts we have cheered and grown stronger here, together. We have all experienced the inspiration and teaching of our coaches and friends here. We’ve lost a mentor and friend here, who I think is the one telling me in my sleep to try one more time.
It's a big ask, but you are big in heart and the messages and outpouring of your words was the stab of epi to a still heart. I am here to see this through because you all are there for it and if I have learned one thing in my time here at ICG, it's that the last rep is the most important because your body is tired but your mind, that grit in a strong will reaches higher than what we thought we could achieve by muscle alone. Its heart, and you all have that in momentous amounts.
Onward, together,
Rachelle
