Hello everyone, I wanted to start this fundraiser to help my sister and my nephew/godson Jayden who is 5 years old.

Here’s a little story about Jaydens condition.

It all started one morning in February of 2019 when Jayden woke up with one of his eyes extremely swollen almost completely shut. My sister took him to the doctors and they prescribed medicine and eye drops but nothing seemed to help. Struggling to find answers and changing doctors to get second opinion but no one seemed to know what was going on. Which was very heartbreaking and stressful for our family. It has been such a struggle for my sister who’s a single mother of two.

Lets fast forward to two years later and after so many biopsies, blood-work, X-rays, you name it and he’s gotten done! They finally diagnosed Jayden with Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Jayden is currently in the hospital (it’s been 18 days) trying to get the right treatment to save him.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an auto immune disorder, which means that his tiny body mistakenly identifies some of its own cells and tissues as foreign. His immune system, which normally helps fight off harmful, foreign substances such as bacteria or viruses, begins to attack healthy cells and tissues. Resulting in inflammation and pain.

JRA may cause fever and anemia, and can also affect the heart, lungs, eyes, and nervous system.

Unfortunately the hospital has become like a second home to Jayden but Jayden is the strongest kid we know and have faith that he will get the right treatment. Jayden has been on steroids for quite sometime now causing his body to change completely and it’s so heartbreaking to see.

Although Jayden is currently receiving treatment the doctors are considering sending him to Maryland for better treatment. I am here today asking for your help financially since my sister hasn’t been able to work. She sold her car to pay for his medical needs. Anything helps, really. Prayers are definitely welcomed.
