Aleksandrovac: A BOY WHO DREAMS THE BATHROOM AND HIS ROOM FOR 16 YEARS

Six years ago, a Serbian teacher at Aca Aleksic Primary School, gave the students a topic ′′ My life in the countryside ".

One boy wrote three sentences,, My country life is hard, I wish I had a bathroom with a water heater so we can warm bath water. I wish I had my own room, so my friends could come. I would like to heal and not go to the hospital anymore, because I'm better off in my house that's old and plowed, than in the hospital.

Marko Smiljkovic, 16 years old, from the village Gornja Rzanica near Aleksandrovac, after 6 years since he wrote the mentioned paper, dreams of the same dreams. Meanwhile he had two surgeries out of 5. He was first operated at just 7 months, second time at almost two years. Subcutaneous head tumors on the neck, tumors on the right side of the hull, testicle surgery, steel rod installation into the spinal pillar, scoliosis surgery, mider, teeth problems, severe health image for one child.

Marko lives with his father, mother, sister and grandmother in a house that is over 200 years old and threatens to collapse. Last year a ceiling fell in the room where Marko and sister Milica slept, luckily the middle of the ceiling fell, so the children remained unharmed. In the house 4 bulbs and one fountain, an old smederevac on which you cook and warm bath water, old TV and beds twice as old as Marko.

There are few beautiful moments that Marko can remember in the past, his favorite is when the fans of Zvezda and Partizan played for him, when he got a bike from Nele from Holland, when he went to the zoo. He now has friends in high school who love and help him, he loves hanging out with them but doesn't go out to town.

The family repeatedly wrote to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in 2016. and 2017., they never received an answer, and copies of the letters misled on the ministry's writers stand.

Our society should shy away from this boy who lives on his father's minimum wage and welfare for 16 years. Big sister got a job in Vrnjacka spa in catering and gives half of her salary to Mark for schooling, breakfast and wardrobe.

With the consent of Mark's parents and Mark himself, we took a few photos that will cause tears in many. Maybe someone remembers the little boy, his written work and his dreamless dream.

Independent NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS of Rasinski district are launching an action to finally build two rooms and a bathroom for Marko. We urge people of goodwill, associations, media, politicians, sports companies, diaspora, to get involved because this boy deserves it.

In addition to all the adversity, Marko doesn't remove a smile from his face, in his soul how he is the only one who knows.
