From surviving to saving lives: Help a future wildlife veterinarian rise
Hi, my name is Isabel, and I’m a veterinary student with a dream as big as the savannah: to protect the most vulnerable wildlife on Earth. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve felt a deep calling to care for sloths injured in forest fires, orphaned elephants, poisoned birds, and all those beings who suffer in silence while the world looks away.
But to fulfill that mission… I first had to survive.
A little over a year ago, I was hospitalized for two months after a suicide attempt. During that time, I underwent intensive treatments, including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). It was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. And yet, from the deepest darkness, a light grew stronger in me: the certainty that my life has a purpose — and that purpose is to heal.
I came back to life not just for myself, but for those who cannot ask for help: the animals.
Today, I’m doing everything I can to become a wildlife veterinarian who will travel where others don’t go, to rescue and rehabilitate animals in crisis zones. But veterinary school is expensive, from study materials to internship programs and fieldwork opportunities in Africa or Latin America, I need your help to keep going.
Every donation you make brings me one step closer to the life I’m fighting for — and the lives I’m meant to save.
If you believe in second chances, in healing, in the power of love for animals and the planet — then you believe in me. Thank you for reading. And thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me rise.
With hope,
Isabel – future wildlife vet & survivor
