Let Her Spend Her Last Days Surrounded by Love, Not Fear

Donation protected
After more than 20 years of living in the same home, my dear friend, her terminally ill 83-year-old mother (on hospice care for congestive heart failure), and her disabled brother are being forcibly evicted by a landlord who is choosing profit over humanity.

Despite their long history as tenants and the mother’s fragile condition, the landlord has spent months harassing them with false claims and threats, trying to push them out under the guise of renovations and rent hikes. On May 12, 2025, they were officially served with eviction papers and told to attend eviction court on May 20th which causes her to lose their HUD housing voucher.

This family is already carrying the emotional weight of knowing their mother is in her final days, while also caring for a disabled family member — all on a fixed income with limited resources and support.

Then, a miracle: they’ve been offered a forever home.

It’s a place they can call their own — no more fear of being pushed out, no more instability. A safe place where this mother can spend her final days in peace, and her children and grandchildren can focus on caregiving instead of surviving.

But the house needs a lot of work, and time is short.
They need help, and fast. Donations will go toward:

  • Essential home repairs and safety upgrades
  • Moving and transportation costs
  • Junk removal and hauling decades of accumulated belongings
  • Storage, furniture, and home essentials
  • Medical and hospice care support during the transition
  • Physical help due to health and mobility limitations

If you are in the Bastrop, Texas area and are willing to assist with the physical demands of this move or by donating services such as moving, storage, junk removal, or cleaning, we welcome any and all assistance being offered!
After so much loss, stress, and cruelty, this is their chance to start over — but they can’t do it alone.

Please consider donating or sharing to help this incredible family get the fresh start they desperately deserve. Every dollar matters, and every act of kindness brings them closer to safety, comfort, and peace.

Thank you so much for your compassion and support.
