David Beers is a 35yr old, self employed single father of two boys.
In 2013, David was diagnosed with a bladder fistula. A bladder fistula is an opening between the bladder and intestines. This opening allows food as it flows through the intestines to leak into his urinary bladder. This causes recurring infections, constant discomfort and pain. In 2015, he had surgery to separate his bladder from his intestines. It was a rough recovery and was out of work for about 3 months.
By March 2017, the condition has returned along with a hiatal hernia.
In November, his sons came to live with him permanently. This thrilled him but it has made it almost impossible to save money for the surgery.
The doctors have informed him that he needs to have surgery to repair these problems or these conditions may become fatal.
A group of us quilters want to help David and his sons. Those of us who know him, know him for his work ethics, gentle spirit and great heart. Those who have seen his work, see his artistic talents.
He doesn’t have insurance yet and hopes to qualify in November so he can have the surgery ASAP. He will be unable to work for at least 2-3 months after the surgeries. His bills will continue to come in while in recovery. His shop and Longarm business will be on hold until he can physically return. His hospital bills, surgeons and lab fees will be very high. We are hoping to raise $100,000 to $150,000.
