Let help and support the Vokey family in a time of need!

Hi I’m Nataly Mercado , I am both a friend of Melanie and a colleague. Working everyday will Melanie, I’ve become very close to her and her family and I’m sure many of you already know Melanie and Brian’s story. They met later in life fell in love and got Married! They are now parents of their beautiful daughter Mari who’s only 10yrs old. Brian oldest son has two amazing girls which Melanie helps watch them every other weekend taking all the responsibilities to make sure the girls and Brian get to spend as much time together as a family.

Brian who most of us know has been very ill and has been waiting for his bilateral lung transplant. We all know that the cost of medical care not to mention this major surgery is astronomical.

Melanie has been Brian’s rock his partner and the best mom all while working and keeping things together.

As we all know most jobs come with benefits except when you are self employed like Melanie. Unfortunately being a hairstylist in town does not come with any benefits but I do believe that when one is in true need the Winthrop community does come together like no other place. Melanie works very hard and is so talented in her craft but that does not have the FMLA, disability , health insurance, and saved vacation and PTO. Therefore she must pay everything out of pocket and barely qualifies for any support. I hope by sharing this we can help our friend who will desperately will need of our help while she will stand by her husband’s side.

Melanie and Brian need our help now more than ever . Melanie should be able to focus on Brian and Mari right now and not worry about anything else .

I ask to please help the Vokey’s and every donation counts and is appreciated more than you can imagine.
