Lessen The Breast Cancer Burden for Monika

Donation protected
Our steadfast, talented, and humble friend Monika recently discovered a mean lump in her breast. This obnoxious lump has a first and last name, but let's just call it Miss Lump because it's nasty. Now, Miss Lump will be exiting Monika very soon (Dec 21/Winter Solstice) and returning to the foreign realm upon which it belongs. (Imagine this place like a retirement home for cells that once were like the thousands of deadheads looking for a free ticket at MSG but now sit around a hotel bar in upstate NY sipping warm wine coolers and whining about how selling tie-dye t-shirts to retro pop-up shops online is nothing like how cool it was to ramble along Shakedown Street trading them for burritos and "oh, can I crash on your couch, dude?") In addition to this, the final eviction notice for Monika's magical little bean ovaries and Queen Uterus was hand-delivered post-dated "ASAP". Alas, little Miss Lump jerk, magical bean ovaries, and Queen Uterus are not cheap dates and are apt to drain Monika's bank account and financial future like a lethargic vampire drains a sexy, unsuspecting, and hopeful door-to-door vacuum salesman. And because America's health insurance, disability, and family medical leave machines are broken like the bolts from a brake job on a 1960's rust belt Pontiac, there's not a lot we can do about them today. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO FOR MONIKA: We can step in and together we can lift her up so she crowd-surf floats and flows freely and protected through this raging medical mosh pit of shitty cancer-infused bs, debt, and strain.

Now, some of you know that our star Monika and her lovely cuddly curmudgeon beloved Mike (Mikey to some) recently purchased their first-ever very small hobbit-esque house in September and in October took in Monika's sweet mama (Elisabeth to some, Oma to others) to care for and live with them (and their rambunctious kitties Yuki and Yoshi and the salacious but classy Mr. Turtle). AND during this past year, both Monika and Mike had to speedily replace their vehicles!! It's been a time of great transition, energy expenditure, and risk. The last thing they need is amassing more debt and the increase of stress from having to work even harder when the focus should be on caring for Monika as she gathers and employs the weapons needed to kick Miss Lump and any of her potentially sneaky cronies out FOR GOOD. FOREVER. BUH-BYE.

We know how this goes, it's easy. We throw in whatever cash we can and we spread the word to others so they can too and before you know it Monika can forget about this money thing and get back to doing what she needs to do to get to the other side of this.

For those of you who may not know, Monika's commitment to others can be massive and she has been known to put herself last. Right now it is Monika who absolutely and wholeheartedly needs our support and rallying!

All humor aside for a moment, as an artistic collaborator and friend of mine for over 20 years now, I know that she would not ask this from you for herself, which is why I am here to ask you for her (and just because I love her).

Please, please, please....join me in lessening this burden on Monika.

Thank you so much for your generosity.
