Hello friend, this is a call for help:

UPDATE: Five years ago I developed a debilitating autoimmune condition, first labeled fibromyalgia and now diagnosed as Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).

It causes chronic pain, frequent injuries, unpredictable allergic-type reactions to everyday foods and environmental triggers, along with crushing fatigue and long term health risks. These health issues have dramatically limited my ability to work and care for myself.

Because of this illness I’ve lost much of my ability to work and support myself, and I’m asking for help so I can stay afloat while I continue seeking treatment and slowly rebuilding my ability to create and work again.

I need specialists for proper care, but most of the practitioners, treatments, and medication I require to function aren't covered by insurance.

How this is affecting my life:

- I'm an illustrator, a DJ and have a handmade jewelry business. This has been a devastating blow to my income, having to drastically cut back on everything. I still take some gigs and commissions, but not enough to sustain.

And there aren't many other jobs that will hire me, in this unpredictable physical state.

- I'm in CONSTANT pain. Everytime I'm on my feet. Everytime I make art, anytime I'm at a gig, even just doing housework. My life is extremely limited - I can't use most products, I can't eat most FOOD. It's taking a harrowing toll on my mental health.

- Out of pocket costs are gutting me, yet federal assistance is almost impossible for me to get. I am overwhelmed.

So I'm asking for financial help - just for a few months - to cover doctors + treatment and basic needs while I focus on recovery.

My goals during this time:

- Focus on HEALING, physical therapy and finding better care.

- Searching for employment that is able to accommodate my special needs.

- Getting a grant, to support my business as an artist with a disability.

Help me get my life back! My initial goal is $7k, though this may change depending on upcoming tests and procedures.

Chronic illness like MCAS is a largely misunderstood but crippling, hidden disability. Anything you can give is appreciated ♥️
