A few years ago, Leslie was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. She was told that this was a terminal disease, and her only option to continue living would be a lung transplant. Leslie lives in Puerto Rico where there is no lung transplant center, so she would need to move to the US to be considered for the transplant procedure.

Leslie was recently evaluated and listed at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. So, she had to move immediately to Miami where the cost of living is threefold that of Puerto Rico.

Leslie needs to cover the expenses of relocation, rent, utilities and transportation in Miami. She also needs to cover the costs of copays for medications, hospital visits, and the medical equipment needed to continue breathing while waiting for her transplant.
