On Feb 3rd, 2021 after many many doctors appts, tests, scans, etc. - our beautiful, fun and electrifying friend Leslie Wayne was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Bile Duct Cancer (clinically known as Cholangiocarcinoma.)
It is a very rare cancer that forms in the slender tubes (bile ducts) that carry the digestive fluid bile. Bile ducts connect your liver to your gallbladder and to your small intestine.
Luckily Leslie is being treated at Sloan Kettering and will be getting the specialized medical care that is required to fight this rare and dangerous cancer. Unfortunately, after more tests, she was not a candidate for surgery and now faces an aggressive chemotherapy plan and will not be able to work.
There are a lot of questions and unknowns that she is facing as she moves thru her journey. This fund will help Leslie navigate all of the challenges that she will encounter such as medical expenses, not being able to work, and all of the unexpected things that come up when you are being treated in a city away from your home.
She may also need help with transportation to and from the city, people to help ensure she has meals delivered, and honestly, she will need to be surrounded by a community of family.
Leslie has a tremendous support group so we all need to rally and help in any way we can. Anything you can give to help Leslie fight this beast will be greatly appreciated.
