Leslie Perez's new music

My name is Leslie Perez, I'm a 21-year-old Singer-Songwriter from the Twin Cities, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to hear from my heart.

For those who don't know, I discovered my love for music at an early age and dreamed of making my own. I first started singing publicly at my local church in Saint Paul at age 11, where my faith-based roots developed, but I thought my dream of being a singer-songwriter would never happen. A few years ago, while studying Pre-Law in college and on the verge of applying to law school, I felt God was calling me to pursue my true passion, music.

In 2022 I released my first EP called "when will we learn to let go?" and in 2023, I released a 3 track project, "House of Healing." I put a lot of work into those projects, and by God's grace, each release has reached more people than before. The fruit of these steps of faith has been mind-blowing to me. Not only have I been able to share my music with the world on streaming platforms, but I've been able to play them at live shows across the U.S. So much has happened in just one year—glory to God.

All this affirmation leads me to a place where I am ready to create a higher production project, a 5-track EP. As excited as I am to create a debut album in the near future, this EP would help me gain more of a listener base with the true sound I want going forward. This EP will differ from most of my previous releases. Same authenticity, same heart. It will be a collection of songs that best introduce myself with a more Neo-Soul/Soul-R&B sound, which is something I've desired and felt more represents me. Being able to create this project would mean the world to me.

To make that possible, I need help funding the project. Music is expensive. I am an independent artist, so I don't have a label to cover the costs. Outside of being a full-time college student, I am also working and doing what I can to put funds into this, but I can't cover the costs of this project alone.

This funding will dictate how much I can create. $7,500 would cover the production aspects of a 5-track EP, not including session musicians, flights to Nashville (which is where I am creating it), distribution, marketing, etc. I promise to steward these resources well.
