Hi my name is Susie and I am fundraising for my best friend and the closest person I have known to a sister Leslie McCormick. On Aug 28th at approx 3:00pm Leslie was traveling down hwy 140 with 3 students and 4 horses before she was collided with head on by a driver in a pick up truck. Thankfully, by grace, all 4 of them walked away from this horrific crash with minor/moderate injuries and so far only minor injuries to the 4 horses on board but the devastation it left to her truck and 4 horse trailer in are beyond repair. We all have insurance but we also all know it will never replace the value of what is lost and unfortunately such is the case here. What has been taken away from Leslie in a blink of an eye is irreplaceable. This a person who selflessly gives every day back to others and her community without thinking twice. This is a person who in the horse world and the outside community is someone we all strive to be. This unfortunate accident, that is in no way her fault, has caused such strife and trauma to not only herself, her students but to her business that it is challenging to come back from. I personally know Leslie saved my life. Saved me from trauma - taught me family - taught me hard work - I would not be the woman I am today without her. I have never done a Go Fund me before but to see my best friend shattered from someone else’s wrong moment - a life she has worked so hard for - I cannot stand idly. So I am reaching out to all family, friends, community and any others to help and give what you can to ease this burden of her trying to repair her life from such a tragic event.
