My dear friend Leslie has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She will be having a full mastectomy and reconstruction surgery on January 20th at the Civic Hospital where she will stay until the 24th of January. Leslie will be unable to carry out any normal activities for 6 weeks and her recovery time is estimated, at this point,  to be at least two months.
Leslie will be experiencing a brief period of reduction in pay (She is missing 4 weeks of sick leave to carry her through the recovery so she will be out a month's pay).
Being a single Mom with a mortgage and regular monthly bills, you can imagine the stress Leslie is feeling.  Nobody needs the stress of a financial
burden when they are  going through a already stressful and traumatic experience.
