A very dear family to both us and our children have suffered a devastating accident while away camping in Blue Lake Ontario. Eric Leschied and his 3 children had gone for a camping trip with Eric’s parents, while Jenn was home working. In the morning of August 21st Eric and his 11 year old daughter were asleep in a tent while the rest of the family was asleep in the trailer, when a large tree fell on their tent. Both Eric and his daughter were trapped under the tree until help was able to arrive. Miraculously she walked away with no physical injuries, however Eric was airlifted from Ontario to HSC where he underwent investigatory surgery to clean everything up internally. He suffered 3 fractures in his pelvis and a ruptured bladder. While Eric is doing surprisingly well and the surgery to repair his bladder was a success, this freak accident will take him out of work for quite a while for him to heal. Eric will be remaining in HSC where he will be working with the rehabilitation team to recover and heal from the Injuries he sustained. There is no time line in sight for when he will be able to come home to his family. With that being said Jenn and the kids will be driving in everyday to spend time with their dad/husband, incurring extra gas and parking expenses. Eric and Jenn are the type of friends who will do anything for others in need and now they will need the help as they navigate this time of healing!
