Lesbya Torres Fund For Low-Income Children

Hi, My name is Gleisy Torres Meints, and I am raising funds in honor of my late mother Lesbya Torres (Dr. Torres), as she was known by many. Unfortunately, my mother passed away on July 12th, 2022 at 75yrs old, after a grueling battle with gastric cancer. I have started this page to raise funds in her name to donate and benefit the children in Venezuela.

My mother lived a life of service. Her passion in life was being a doctor. She had an extraordinary career for 49 years at Clinica Razzetti where she had her private practice, and at Hospital Central Antonio Maria Pineda, where she volunteered her time to help those in need for over 30 years. She devoted her life to bringing children into this world (neonatology), healing them as a pediatric doctor, and mentoring the next generation as a teacher at a University. Whenever she was needed, she was always there. It didn't matter the day or time.

Before her passing, one of her wishes was to donate funds in her name to help the children and mothers in need back in Venezuela. She loved her career, and helping others was her mission in life. No amount is too small. The funds will benefit low-income families that need acces to healthcare and don't have it. The money will help with doctor bills, medication and procedures for their children. So many families and expecting mothers do not have the means to receive good care in our town of Barquisimeto, and these funds will help.
