A determined woman attempts to preserve her elderly mother's memories in her memoir with the evocative power of music.

Synopsis:

“Les Mémoires Perdues" tells the poignant story of an old woman who writes down her memoirs of her past as a once successful contemporary dancer. As she writes her past down she has a sudden stroke. Her lone remaining family member, her devoted daughter, rushes to see her after the incident and discovers the unfinished memoirs that her mother had been writing down.

Determined to honor her mother, the daughter embarks on a mission to complete the unfished memoirs. However, a cruel twist of fate reveals that the stroke has left her mother grappling with dementia, rendering traditional interviews about her past impossible. Undeterred, the daughter stumbles upon a unique method to unlock her mother's memories.

Realizing that the music from her mother's dance performances has the power to trigger vivid recollections of her Dancer's past. As the melodies fill the room, the mother's memories resurface, allowing her to recount tales of her youth and her favorite place on earth “the enchanting forest” where she dedicated countless hours to training and preparing for her breathtaking shows. The daughter painstakingly captures her mother's memories on paper, completing the memoirs that would otherwise have been lost to the ravages of dementia.

A year later, the inevitable happens, and the mother passes away. In a touching tribute, the daughter returns to the forest where her mom used to train and dance in her youth and scatter her ashes, ensuring that the memories live on in the place that meant so much to her.

"Les Mémoires Perdues" beautifully captures the resilience of familial love and the power of music to preserve the essence of a well-lived life and positive memories.
