Les Fredrickson Memorial Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
Les was diagnosed with cancer, and has been fighting courageously with the support of his wife, Sarah, as well as his family and friends. As he is spending his final days with those closest to him, his fire service family is honoring his dedication and love of the fire service through the establishment of a Memorial Scholarship Fund. Les loved the fire department and loved his career as a firefighter, and we see no greater way to honor his legacy than to help others who are seeking a fire service career.
Les served communities in the greater Puget Sound area as a Firefighter/EMT for 25 years. He began his career in Mukilteo, where he served for the initial 17 years of his career, then transferred to South Snohomish County Fire District 1. He also served his home community of Bainbridge Island as a volunteer with the Bainbridge Island Fire Department. Together, these unions are working to establish a Memorial Scholarship Fund in his honor to help individuals interested in starting a career in the fire service. We would love your support in this cause.
The Les Fredrickson Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to help aspiring Firefighter/EMTs, both career and volunteer, with the training required to begin serving their communities. Specifically, the goal is to fund EMT class and, as funds allow, Firefighter 1 academy attendance.
Bainbridge Island Firefighter's Local 4034 will initiate this scholarship fund to enable its first recipient to attend EMT school. Your donations will help us support additional classes! We appreciate your support in honoring Les and creating a legacy for his service to continue.
Note that GoFundMe is being used for scholarship fund donations while we work toward finalizing the bank account and tax status with the IRS, after which all the funds will be deposited there.
