Les Beto Medical Fundraiser
In the summer of 2018 Les Beto was formally diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy successfully in his hometown of Brainerd. He was cancer free for less than 8 months when the cancer returned. Les received radiation to begin in Brainerd. He then began his chemotherapy regiment at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester. Unfortunately, during radiation, the cancer spread quickly throughout his body. It spread to his bones and blood, it was almost everywhere and continuing to grow rapidly. The decision was then made by the oncologist and family to start the CAR-T Cell therapy on August 21, 2020. Since that day, Les has only been able to leave the hospital for one night. Jill (daughter) had to rush him back to the hospital due to very high fever. Connie (wife) has been at the hospital every day by his side advocating for him and his treatment (unfortunately due to COVID Jill can only wave to him from the street). He has been receiving blood and plasma almost daily and some days multiple times in a day. Les will require daily visits to the hospital for weeks to come after he is discharged. The three of them rented a house blocks from the hospital making those daily visits and their stay more convenient and comfortable. They have true faith that the CAR-T Cell therapy is working and he will once again be cancer free.
As we all know, Connie is an angel (for real) and I'm sure Les is more than happy to have her and Jill standing by him, keeping him BETO STRONG.
We appreciate everyone's love, support and prayers as Les travels through this difficult journey. We will provide updates when they are available.
