Hi friends, my name is Melissa, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my wonderful neighbors, Wanda and Ruben.
2 nights ago, their sweet dog Leo was viciously attacked on Cleveland Street near East Ave by another dog. Leo’s paw was badly broken. The emergency vet visit already cost $1,000, and now he’s facing a surgery that will cost another $6,000 to repair his foot. The only alternative is amputation—which still costs thousands—and would change Leo’s life forever.
Wanda and Ruben are some of the kindest, most selfless people I know. They are always the first to lend a hand to others, but Wanda was too humble to ask for help when tragedy struck. That’s where I stepped in—because I believe community is about lifting each other up in times like this.
Leo deserves the chance to run, play, and live a full, happy life with the family who loves him dearly. But they can’t do this alone.
Every single dollar makes a difference—whether it’s $5, $10, or whatever you can give. Together, we can help Leo get the care he desperately needs and ease this heartbreaking burden for Wanda and Ruben.
Please, if you’re able, donate and share this with others who might be able to help. Let’s show them they’re not alone in this.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
