Hello!

I’m Leo. As part of my Bar Mitzvah, I decided to raise money for the Salaam Baalak Trust in Delhi, which works to support and educate children on the city’s streets. As many of you know, I lived in India for three years. During my time there, I would see children come up to cars at intersections and knock on their windows, begging for food or money. We learned that some of these children are being exploited by adults who aren’t their families, and I wanted to give them a safe and supportive environment to live in.

Salaam Baalak Trust runs shelters for boys and girls and a hotline for children who need help. It also provides food, medical care and access to education for children living on the streets. You can find out more about the organization and its work here: https://www.salaambaalaktrust.com/
