The Trevor Project supports suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. It does this by providing a free suicide hotline and the expertise of trained counselors 24/7. Additionally, the Trevor Project is an advocacy group that supports pro-LGBTQ legislation, litigation, and education. Their website is linked here .
I chose The Trevor Project because there are a lot of people in my life who are part of the LGBTQ community whom I love dearly. Additionally it's a very well-run group, earning an "A" on Charity Watch in both transparency and governance.
