***UPDATE BELOW ***
This fundraiser is for my daughter Leora. Her name means light. She’s came into this world last April, 2021. She is 4.5 months old & she has been in the hospital since birth.
Leora was born with a rare heart condition. It was so complex, it was considered incredibly rare. Her heart has AV Canal, a leaky valve, & a single ventricle.
In spite of the condition, she is a true fighter. Over the last several months, hundreds of people have prayed & have followed her story... And she has become a symbol of strength, tenacity & courage. She’s is strong in spirit & is full of life.
We have felt the strength of everyone’s love, & have felt their prayers carry us throughout this whole journey as a family... We are now facing our next hurdle.
Leora has an opportunity to be transported to Boston’s Children’s Hospital, the #1 pediatric hospital in the nation to receive a heart surgery that we believe will save her life. Not only save her life, but will greatly improve the quality of her life. She will no longer live in a hospital room. She will be able to feel her mother hold her everyday, throughout the day. She will be able to fall asleep in my arms. This has been our heart’s cry. And right now, we’ve never been so close to having that now, as we do now.
We know this is a high risk surgery, so we sought the a surgeon who has much experience with Leora’s particular rare heart condition. And from the words of his former patients, “He tends to make the impossible, possible.”
For those who have been following our story, we have previously receive grim reports at our current hospital. They sat us down, trying to prepare us that our daughter may not make it. However, we believe in so much more. We believe in her strength, her destiny. And we can’t help but see her on the other side, shining bright, breaking all odds.
We are currently looking into everything that is going into our decision. And we know this is much more than we expected to happened, especially financially. And we still have a ways to go.
If you would consider praying for Leora & everything that’s involved in her care, recovery & the means to make it happen...Please do. ❤️ And thank you for standing with us.
If you wish to be with us even financially, we would be so grateful for your heart & generosity. Everything is going into Leora’s care. This may include airfare, housing, medical expenses, transportation, & more.
We don’t know what the road will look like, but we know there is hope. We believe in miracles. And we’re standing with Leora all the way through.
*** UPDATE on 12/27/2021 ***
To everyone who’s helped us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Leora had her life-saving surgery & her recovery is going very well ❤️ She actually did so much better than everyone expected.
I remember feeling so strongly in my heart that this Hospital was there one Leora was meant to go to, & I remember feeling the decision was a matter of life/death. It was a harder route, it wasn’t easy...
But one thing that stuck with me some her surgery... One of Boston’s cardiologist told us that he believes we helped saved Leora’s life by bringing her to Boston.
As much as that has meant to me hearing that, I know it would meant a lot to everyone else too. Everyone who has supported us in coming here. I just want to say, you are a part of Leora’s life. And thank you for helping to save her ❤️
