Ramon has been a dear friend of mine since 1996. He is the most generous, caring and selfless person I know.
Ramon has always been there for me, and I want to be there for him now.
When Ramon and Leonel met, I was so happy to know that he finally had someone that could provide him with as much love as he provides the rest of us.
Leonel has worked hard for the last few years going back to school so he could get a great job. He worked his way through a degree program and landed a well deserved job as pharmacy tech at Walmart. Just as things were looking up, he lost his job when Walmart shut down 269 stores and pharmacies earlier this year.
After being laid off and loosing his insurance, an ongoing health problem began to get worse, and while transitioning on to Ramon’s insurance, he was un-able to get in to see a doctor.
Last week when he finally got in to see a GP, they immediately recommended that he be admitted to the emergency room. His liver was not functioning properly, and he was VERY anemic. He has received a couple of blood transfusions, and has been in the ICU for two days.
He’s no longer in critical condition, and has been transferred to a private room. I just spoke to him on the phone, and his spirits are up, and he sound hopeful they’ll send him home in a few days.
I’m starting this campaign to raise money for Ramon and Leonel as they struggle through these challenges. I know there are going to be medical expenses outside of what insurance will cover (deductibles, copays, and coinsurance). And when they send Leonel home, Ramon’s going to need some help caring for him while he recovers.
I know we all love Ramon and Leonel, and I hope we can all pitch in to help. If you can spare something, please donate.
This money will be going directly to Ramon and Leonel to help with their expenses during this time.
Whether you can help monetarily or not, your moral support will be much appreciated.
Sending three-much love to you all.
XOXO Ian
