On Monday, the 8th of March, our nephew, Leonardo, began to feel ill and over the next three days he was diagnosed with a very aggressive T Cell Lymphoma that in only 48 hours had taken over his body. At his arrival to Radys Children’s Hospital he was admitted to the PICU and was placed on life support and later declared brain dead. He was a 2 years old healthy normal child that had never suffered any medical problems. He is expected to be taken off of life support on Friday, March 12th.
We have been provided a funeral service and cremation, free of charge, from Greenwood Memorial. We are still in need of a casket and other smaller expenses that arise from a situation like this. His mother is indigent and his immediate family is very low income.
My sister, Andriana Tristan, was able to acquire the funeral service and cremation and my mother, Teresa Tristan & myself, have been contacting children foundations seeking funds to help cover the remaining cost. As of now we have not been able to find one who can provide financial assistance for our nephew.
He is survived by his mother Isabel Garcia, and his two siblings. He was 2 years old.
El lunes 8 de marzo, nuestro sobrino Leonardo comenzó a sentirse mal y durante los siguientes tres días le diagnosticaron un linfoma de células T muy agresivo que en solo 48 horas se había apoderado de su cuerpo. A su llegada al Hospital de Niños Radys, fue admitido en la UCIP y fue puesto en soporte vital y luego declarado muerte cerebral. Era un niño normal sano de 2 años que nunca había sufrido ningún problema médico. Se espera que le retiren el soporte vital el viernes 12 de marzo.
Greenwood Memorial nos ha proporcionado un servicio funerario y una cremación, sin cargo. Todavía necesitamos un ataúd y otros gastos menores que surgen de una situación como esta. Su madre es indigente y su familia inmediata es de muy bajos ingresos.
Mi hermana, Andriana Tristan, pudo adquirir el servicio funerario y la cremación y mi madre, Teresa Tristan y yo, nos hemos puesto en contacto con fundaciones de niños en busca de fondos para ayudar a cubrir el costo del escariado. Hasta ahora no hemos podido encontrar a nadie que pueda brindar ayuda financiera para nuestro sobrino.
Le sobreviven su madre Isabel García y sus dos hermanos. Tenía 2 años.
