Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

It is with heavy hearts that my grandmother, Victoria, and I announce the passing of my father, Leonardo Covarrubias Jr.

Leo lost his battle with Cancer on December 4, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and is survived by his mother, Victoria Torres, his brother, Robert Leanos, his daughter, Ciara Covarrubias Grenko, his grandson, Nathaniel Grenko, and his granddaughter, Donya Grenko.

As we come to terms with Leo’s passing, we face the difficult task of planning his final farewell. Victoria and I are arranging for his cremation, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming during this already challenging time.

We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring Leo’s memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us all to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.

Funds raised will go towards: itemized specific expenses, cremation costs, and transportation of his cremains. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that Leo is laid to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.

We also welcome and appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and messages of support during this difficult time. Leo loved to sing, take bike rides, and cook. Carnitas were his favorite! His beautiful heart always lead him to care for others. In his honor, feel free to share your favorite song or recipe so we can all celebrate his life as a community. Your kindness means the world to us as we navigate through our grief.
