Leon Winmar's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
This go fund me page has been set up to help the Winmar family through this challenging time while Leon is on his road to recovery.
On Leon’s last night of nightshift, he suffered a medical event on site where he had to be urgently flown off site using the RFDS service. Leon was flown to the Sir Charles Gardner Hospital for immediate medical attention where it was discovered he had suffered a stroke while onsite. Leon was rushed in for surgery and a blood clot was found and removed on the right side of his brain. He was then transferred to the Neuro ward where he is still recovering from loss of speech and numbness on the right side of his body, once in a better position he will then be transferred to Fiona Stanley to begin his recovery.
Leon is 47 years old and Married to his wife Kelly for 19 years having 4 amazing kids together 2 boys and 2 girls. Leon is a man devoted to his whole family working hard to provide for them. He is an easy-going guy who is highly respected by all his work colleagues and always the centre of a good laugh. He is a hard worker, never shy to give something new a go and always ready to lend someone a hand when they need it. Leon enjoyed a beer after a hot day but also enjoyed walks and a swim around camp.
This fundraiser is to help provide support and security for Leon and his family while Leon is still recovering from this life altering event. The aim is to remove any unnecessary anxiety financially and provide the highest form of care and support for all aspects at this difficult time.
Any size donation is considered a massive contribution and is without a doubt a massive help to Leon and his family.
