Leon Greenwood GB Bobsleigh

Hi I’m Leon Greenwood, I have created this go fund me page to hopefully gain support financially from family, friends and anyone who is willing to support my childhood dream in representing Great Britain (GB) in this upcoming bobsleigh season.

The journey into bobsleigh began 2 years ago and is a sport I’ve always wanted to try, but due to a serious ankle operation and being told by surgeons that I will never be able to sprint again. I thought Bobsleigh would never be on the cards for me. However, after nearly 2 years of rehabilitation and determination my ankle is as good as new- proving the surgeons wrong!

I enquired about how to get started in this unique sport of bobsleigh once my ankle had fully healed. I was told I needed to show up to a Talent Identification which gives athletes a potential opportunity to compete in the sport. My performance on the day was recognised which opened an opportunity to trial for Great Britain (GB) bobsleigh in late August. I was then selected to represent GB in this upcoming season. This year I will be competing in either the IBSF World Championships or the European Cup whereby we hope to be on the podium.

Due to not been a funded athlete and having to take time off from work. I am looking for a sponsorship- whether that may be big or small to support my journey. All funds donated will be used towards clothing, equipment, nutrition, travel expenses and accommodation throughout the season. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.
