USA Track and Field said, "Leon Bailey is a name synonymous with Track & Field in Hudson County, New Jersey. Every December at the Jersey City Armory the Indoor Track season is kicked off at the Leon Bailey Liberty Relays."
After his passing on September 4, the family has joined with USA Track and Field New Jersey to honor Leon Bailey and make a difference that we know would have been important to him. With such positive initial response, we increased our goal to fund the USATF-NJ Junior Olympic Track & Field and Cross Country programs with upgraded equipment for youth. After an 18 month layoff, the youth are looking forward to the Junior Olympics Cross Country Championships on November 7.
