Leon got diagnosed on 19th January with both Bowel & Stomach Cancer he is 44 years old , we have all pulled together over the last 8 months to raise money through GoFundMe & also a Charity event raising circa £40,000 in the process , after 11 rounds of chemotherapy Leon is now in a place where he needs to get more treatment but this will have to now be private help . Leon has two young daughters Alexa & Gabriella who are his world and we want Leon to spend as much quality time with them and also his wife Jade who has cared for Leon for the last 8 months and I believe without her help Leon wouldn’t still be here today . This is now crucial to Leon’s survival so we would really appreciate any help our friends , family and all those who hear this story can do .
New Update . We have raised our total to £30,000 . As we have more clarity on his next steps … Jade’s words…
We’ve been to Royal Marsden now - both they and Clatterbridge feel that Leon may benefit from the addition of another drug which can only be sourced privately (probably through Christies) it’s really expensive but could really help and give us that extra time with some quality of life. We also been in contact with a hospital in Israel (Sheba) and a company who specialise in immunotherapy which are both options we would want to move forward on. Time is running out and as you know Leon has had a massive setback and has now had to be put on Second-line chemo very quickly after the conclusion of his first line of treatment. He’s fighting like a warrior and dealing with added complications of infections and diabetes due to his TPN feed. But he doesn’t want to give up for his girls who are his world. He’s so sad at the thought of leaving them and what he will miss .
We have one of our close friends Gary O’Brien taking on the Coast to Coast challenge in Scotland on 10th September to raise funds in aid of Leon and his family . This is an absolutely amazing gesture off Gary . We would love all sponsors to push as much as possible it would greatly appreciated .
