Leo is our Christmas miracle!!

This fund is to help my favorite brother, Leo, with some of his medical bills, rent, and to compensate not being able to work. We have a goal of raising $5,000 for Leo. I almost became an only child the other night. We had just wrapped up family Christmas, and of course Leo gave everyone custom, hand-made stylish gifts. On the way out the door, I gave Leo a hug and told him, "See ya next Sunday for Christmas #2!". Not knowing that could have easily been the last thing I said to him. I remember driving home slower than usual due to the thick fog.

Leo was hit head-on while driving on his way back home to Duluth. The crash occurred between Cloquet and Duluth around 6:30pm on 12/16. He was pinned in his car for 45 mins until emergency personnel arrived and was able to remove his body from his demolished vehicle. Leo was fully conscious during the whole event - all he could do was focus on his breathing to slow his heart rate down.

He was rushed to St. Lukes hospital as the medical staff swiftly worked around the clock to stabilize his vitals.

He broke and split his right femur into multiple pieces. Due to the impact, his femur ruptured his skin and shattered his right patella. He was rushed that night into a emergency surgery to reconstruct his femur with a metal rod. He later underwent another reconstructive surgery to place his patella back together.

Statistically, Leo should be dead.

The fact Leo didn't have any injury to his head, hips, back, or any other part of his body is a miracle! We are so thankful for the skills of the surgeons and medical staff for keeping Leo healthy. A special thank you to family and friends who have shared their love and visited Leo.

I thank God everyday that Leo is still here with us. I know that he had some good angels looking over him that night. Leo's work here isn't done yet! Hug your loved ones tight.
