[Note: Keep reading, scroll to watch the video]
Sometimes, we are called to give to something we believe in. We rarely get to know the benefactors- but we have faith our money will go far. In this instance, I have the chance to introduce you to my beloved godson Leo Hirshowitz. Perhaps you can get to know his story and be inspired to aid in his education for a semester in Israel. I'm so honored to be asking you to join me in support of his next fascinating life chapter.
Larry & Ruth have been family to me. I officiated at their wedding and soon held little Leo in my arms when he was just one big smile and limbs tossing in the air. I fell in love instantly. I've watched his soul shine into the world these last 18 years. He's just a magnificent human. His warmth, humor and talent braid together effortlessly. I love seeing him in the world and only see HUGE potential for him.
I can't express what it would mean to his family for us to rally in support of his education. Dollars donated are real and needed - but the love behind your donations is the currency that will pay it forward for years. Imagine Leo boarding the plane on January 15th, knowing we have all come together to support him. Some of you don't know him but care for me - and that is extra special. So here's a little video for you to get to know Leo.
Thank you for your curiosity and your consideration of this beautiful man.
About Leo's Semester:
Leo will live in Tel Aviv for 4.5 months through Aardvark Israel. He will be learning Hebrew, interning in a meaningful and resumé-boosting position, taking courses, and exploring Israel as an Israeli on field trips and daily life. Leo will live and learn with 300 other Jewish teens from over 20 countries worldwide. This semester is sure to be one that will help him grow, leave him with everlasting memories, and give him the life skills that will help him flourish in whatever path he chooses next.
